What we publish

How a story gets here

Nothing appears on these pages until a member of staff has read and approved it. Features and guides need two people: whoever last edited the text cannot also approve it.

How we use AI

AI writes first drafts only: two-sentence summaries of other publishers' stories, written from their own headline and description, and outlines and drafts of our own pieces. Drafts of our own pieces may use only the figures we give them; every number in a draft is checked against those figures, and against the cited source for guides, before a person sees it. A person edits, approves and is named on everything we publish under our name.

Corrections

When we get something wrong we fix it and add a dated note at the foot of the story saying what changed. We don't quietly rewrite published stories. To report an error, email info@pathfacts.com or use the tip form.

Sources and licences

Each source has recorded terms: summary and link only, full text with a recorded reason (public domain, a press release, a Creative Commons licence, or written permission), cited facts only, or staff reading only. If a publisher's terms change, we change that source's setting and every republished text from it comes down at once.

Tips and contact

Send news to the tip form or info@pathfacts.com. Tips are read by staff only and never published as sent.
